The Equine Session

I have a passion for this beautiful beast. As a young girl of 5, my mother brought home our first Shetland Pony, “Polka.” She was suppose to pay the light bill, but chose to buy a pony instead. This experience fueled my love of horses. From childhood, and into my teenage years, you could find my bedroom full of horse statues and posters. Forty years later I still recall this wonderful memory.

If you have owned Shetlands you know how stubborn this pony’s can be. We were bucked, kicked, and had great fear instilled into us by Polka.

This however did not detour my love of horses. Although my time does not allow for daily ridding I do have much experience with these commanding animals and have great pleasure in creating a timeless piece of art for my clients.

I have shown Western, English, and Saddle Seat. I have also played “Stick and Ball” (Polo),

I offer two types of settings when photographing Horses

The Masters: This offers an Old World feel. I can bring to your location a 24 Ft wide by 16 ft high, hand painted, canvas backdrop. Due to the precariousness of this set up, I may choose to reschedule the session if I feel the weather or wind would be a risk to horse or rider.

The Contemporary: I will utilize the natural environment, with natural light to create your portrait.
